Nestled behind the dunes of beautiful Pinky Beach, one of Australia’s most relaxed and breathtaking coastal locations, Discovery - Rottnest Island provides a reimagined camping holiday.
As the first eco-tent experience on Rottnest Island, we value nature, connection and minimal impact.
Sleep (almost) under the stars in a comfortable canvas eco-tent complete with ensuite bathroom and pillow topped bed. Explore boardwalks through to Pinky’s Beach Club, spend you days exploring the island’s incredible beaches, laze by the pool, and make friends around the BBQ.
It’s the perfect experience for people who love the idea of camping, but need those extra creature comforts.
With the city just visible on the horizon across the Indian Ocean, you’ll feel a world away from the hustle and bustle.
It is a place where you can embrace the great Australian family holiday, disconnect from the world, enjoy freedom, space and discover what really matters.
Whether you're visiting the island on a day-trip or staying at our property overnight, Discovery - Rottnest Island offers beachgoers and guests a range of dining options, refreshments and takeaway.
Pinky's Beach Club and Thomsons Restaurant are headed by talented executive Chef Karl Wulf, who is committed to celebrating fresh, local produce and his guilty pleasure is cooking over fire and coal.
The menus are seasonal and the dishes celebrate the best local produce that WA has to offer. Take a peek at the menus here
Both dining options also have a dedicated event mangement and functions team who can help you host your next event. For more information or to enquire, head to the Groups and Functions tab.
Discovery – Rottnest Island is an easy and scenic 1km walk from the ferry pier through the main Rottnest Island township.
As the island is predominantly free of cars, we do not provide transfers and most guests enjoy exploring the island as they make their way to their accommodation on foot.
However, if you have mobility constraints and require a transfer from the ferry to your accommodation, please let us know so that we can put arrangements in place.
If you have luggage you can check it in with your ferry provider and it will be sent to Discovery by the Island’s delivery service. This can take up to 2 hours once you’ve arrived so we recommend packing a day bag with bathers and anything else you might want to use straight away.
Check-in for the property is 2pm and check-out is 10am, so please bear these timings in mind when booking the ferry.
