Lava Tube Tour – Wind Tunnel Explorer

The Wind Tunnel Explorer is for the adventurer! This experience will have you scrambling over rocks as you make your way into the lava tubes below.

For those who want to get off the beaten path - literally. This tour takes you scrambling over ancient volcanic rock and into the raw, untouched lava tubes below, where your experienced guide brings the landscape's volcanic origins to life with every formation you pass. It's hands-on and immersive, with a real sense of discovery as you make your way into tunnels few visitors get to see.

Departure Point: Reception
Duration: 2 hours
Departs: 8:00am and 10:30am
Terrain: Uneven, steep and rocky ground. A rope is provided in some sections for balance.
Fitness Level: Moderate – requires a reasonable level of fitness and mobility. Not suitable for: anyone with ankle/knee issues, those uncomfortable on rough uneven ground or children under 5.
