What facilities are available in the campground?
Powered sies have 240 volt, 50Hz AC with water connection points. General amenities are toilets, showers and laundry facilities, RV dump point, swimming pool with grassed area and Luritja Lookout.
What are the operating hours?
Most facilities are open 7 days a week but with the below operating hours.
- Reception: Open 6am to 10:30pm
- Outback Oasis General Store & Fuel Station: 8am to 4pm
- Christmas Day, Boxing Day & New Years Day: 9am to 11am & 3pm to 5pm - Kings Canyon Bar & Grill: 11am til late
- Carmichaels Restaurant: 6am to 10am for breakfast only
- Under a Desert Moon: 6pm
- PHS Helicopter Tours: Available, request a booking here
Are there medical facilities available?
Yes, there is a medical centre. Open Monday to Friday with afterhours callout as required.
Is there mobile phone coverage?
Yes, coverage is available for Telstra (4G) and Optus (4G).
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is after 3pm and check-out is at 10am.
Can you check in after 8:00pm when reception closes?
Yes, but with prior arrangement.
Is there Internet and how much does it cost?
There is limited free Wi-Fi available at the property. The best access is at Reception and the Kings Canyon Bar & Grill.
What laundry facilities are available?
There are 8 laundries in total, 1 behind Resort Reception and 7 in the Caravan Park amenity blocks. The cost is $4 wash and $4 dry, and the machines accept $1 and $2 coins only.
When is the wet season?
December to February
Are linen and towels provided in Budget Lodge rooms?
Yes, linen and towels are provided in Budget Lodge rooms.
Why do I need to give credit card details at the time of my reservation?
Credit Card is required at time of Reservation for Deposit, Surcharge is 0.9 % for Visa, Master & Amex. No Diners accepted.
What accommodation do you have for a family of 5 or 6?
Families with 5-6 people are able to be accommodated in 2 rooms at present.
Do the rooms have heating and cooling?
Yes, both heating and cooling are available in our Budget Rooms our Superior and Deluxe Rooms at Discovery Resorts - Kings Canyon.
Are there tea and coffee facilities?
Yes, tea and coffee making facilities are available in all rooms.
What kind of view do the Standard Rooms have?
The Standard Rooms have a view of the natural central Australian bushland with rocky outcrops.
If a guest has an allergy or is vegetarian, are they able to go to "Under a Desert Moon"
Under a Desert Moon is seasonally closed. Once it re-opens and provided you give adequate notice of your dietary requirements, we are able to accommodate them. If we're unable to do so, we will inform you.
Are dogs allowed in the campground?
Yes, dogs are allowed in the campground however they need to be leashed at all times. Dogs are not allowed in Lodge Rooms or Resort Rooms.
How long does it take to get here from Alice Springs/Uluru (Ayers Rock)?
Approx 4-5 hrs from Alice Springs and 3-4 hrs from Ayers Rock.
Are there cooking facilities in the room?
Due to fire regulations, there are no cooking facilities in the rooms.
Is there an onsite mechanic?
There is no onsite mechanic located at Kings Canyon.
Is there a petrol station and grocery store at Kings Canyon?
Yes, the Outback Oasis General Store is both a fuel station and grocery store, providing diesel, unleaded, snacks and basic convenience items.
