Discovery Parks unveils $10M Alice Springs tourism development
Discovery Parks has today unveiled a major new tourism development in Alice Springs, featuring the largest waterpark in the company’s national portfolio and 14 new deluxe tourist cabins.
The $10M project underscores Discovery’s long-term commitment to the Northern Territory, where it operates four holiday parks and resorts, contributing more than 145,000 visitor nights annually.
Discovery Parks Founder and Chief Executive Officer Grant Wilckens said the investment at Discovery Parks – Alice Springs was about creating a flagship family-friendly destination that encourages people to stay longer and experience more of Central Australia.
“We’re excited to deliver an exceptional new experience for guests visiting Alice Springs, enhancing the appeal of Discovery Parks as the region’s premier holiday park,” Grant said.
“With the largest waterpark in our national Discovery portfolio and new deluxe cabins, this development will support increased visitation to Central Australia and reflects our confidence in NT tourism.”
This latest development at Discovery Parks – Alice Springs adds to a growing list of tourism investments by the company across the NT over the past five years, which has seen it spend more than $100M on upgrades to its properties.
Expected to generate an additional 27,000 visitor nights and deliver up to $8 million in annual economic benefit, the new development will help attract more families and visitors to Central Australia year-round.
