Job opportunities announced for First Nations peoples at Wilpena Pound Resort
ADELAIDE: G’day Group has officially launched employment opportunities for First Nations peoples as part of its landmark agreement to operate the iconic Wilpena Pound Resort.
Advertising has begun for a range of roles including Retail Attendants, Food and Beverage staff and Tour Guides.
The move signals G’day Group’s intent to deliver meaningful benefits to the Adnyamathanha people who are the Traditional Custodians of the land.
The commitment to provide guaranteed annual apprenticeships and traineeships for Aboriginal employees is enshrined in the partnering agreement with the Adnyamathanha Traditional Lands Association signed last October.
“We recognise that we have huge responsibility to this remarkable property and we are excited to build a strong and collaborative relationship with the Adnyamathanha community,” G’day Group founder and CEO Grant Wilckens said.
“Right throughout this process, we have maintained our commitment to delivering greater economic and social benefits for Adnyamathanha people and investing in the resort.”
G’day Group will invest an initial $5 million in the Wilpena Pound Resort over the next three years after purchasing the business in South Australia’s Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park.
First Nations peoples interested in exploring the available employment opportunities are encouraged to email wilpena.employment@discoveryparks.com.au.
