Discovery Parks - Geelong makes a splash with new indoor pool

The swimming pool is the heart of a holiday park for kids and adults alike, and now guests can enjoy a splash all year round in the new heated indoor pool at Discovery Parks - Geelong.

The 12.5 by 6.5 metre pool is the latest addition to the park and is already a hit with visitors and locals who come to use it, says Park Manager Sandy Marsh.

“The pool is such a wonderful focal point for families on holiday and our older guests are finding it therapeutic because it’s warm, even on brisk mornings. Being a magnesium-based pool, it is kind on the skin and the hair and has great health benefits,” she said.

“We’re thrilled that it is completed in time for the summer holidays when the swimming pool is the hub of all activity.”

Set near the Barwon River, Discovery Parks - Geelong attracts visitors flying into Victoria’s Avalon Airport and is a gateway to the spectacular Great Ocean Road coastline and regional attractions.

The park, which is just over an hour from Melbourne, also attracts families keen to explore the Geelong Adventure Park, Victoria’s largest theme park, along with Fairy Park.

“Geelong is such a beautiful city, steeped in history, with coastal experiences and boutique wineries at your fingertips – there’s so much to do and see within easy reach although some don’t even leave the park as it is so tempting just to sit under a tree with a book while the kids play,” says Sandy.

The investment reflects Discovery Parks’ ongoing investment in its network of parks, with constant upgrades to accommodation and facilities.

Discovery Parks - Australia’s largest holiday park network with more than 300 owned parks and licensed G'day Parks – invests around $100 million in capital improvements in its owned parks per annum and employs around 1200 people nationally.

With waterparks, well-equipped cabins, playgrounds, lagoon swimming pools and increasingly glamping products, Discovery Parks is attracting people who have never before considered a holiday park vacation.
