G’day Group unveils new $10M Top End development
Discovery Parks – Katherine has even more to offer guests following the completion of a $10 million redevelopment, which officially opened for bookings today.
Already a hidden gem of the Northern Territory, the property – owned by Australia’s largest regional accommodation provider G’day Group – has undergone a major transformation with 13 new deluxe two-bedroom cabins overlooking a new resort-style pool and BBQ area.
The new cabins, which guests will be able to stay in from 10 December, were designed and manufactured in Australia by Gold Coast based modular accommodation manufacturer ModnPods.
G’day Group Chief Strategy Officer Ben Simons said the development underlined the Group’s continued commitment to regional tourism and confidence in the growth of Katherine as a gateway destination.
“With this significant investment, we are thrilled to elevate our guest experience. The new deluxe cabins provide a touch of luxury in the heart of the rugged Top End, providing the perfect base from which to explore the region’s many natural wonders,” he said.
“We believe this investment will set Discovery Parks – Katherine apart as the preferred accommodation in the area and furthers our commitment to investing in key tourist destinations across regional Australia.”
Featuring two bedrooms in a queen and two single layout, a full kitchen and an elevated balcony, the new deluxe cabins are aimed at increasingly the property’s appeal to travelling families and guests looking for a comfortable and modern base from which to explore the many natural attractions around Katherine.
Located six kilometres out of Katherine, the park is a short, 15-minute drive to Nitmiluk (Katherine) Gorge and close by to other attractions including Top Didj Cultural Experience & Art Gallery and Helispirit’s Katherine base, for those seeking a helicopter adventure.
Guests are invited to book their stay at the newly refurbished Discovery Parks – Katherine and be one of the first to experience the new deluxe cabins and facilities from 10 December. Prices start from $240 per night, visit discoveryholidayparks.com.au to book.
