G’day Group launches new Conferences and Events offering

Best known as Australia’s largest regional accommodation provider, Adelaide based G’day Group has launched a new dedicated conferences and events brand, Discovery Conferences and Events, to oversee its growing portfolio of unique regional event venues across Australia.

It comes off the back of two years of rapid growth that has seen the company make a series of targeted acquisitions of resort and high-end regional properties, diversifying its accommodation and hospitality offering beyond its traditional holiday and caravan park business.

The new Discovery Conferences and Events brand brings together the company’s offerings at Kings Canyon Resort, Glen Helen and Rottnest Island, as well as the Adelaide Hills Convention Centre at Hahndorf Resort, the Victor Harbor Convention Centre at McCracken Country Club and Nagambie Lakes Function Centre in Victoria.

G’day Group Chief Executive Officer Grant Wilckens said that the creation of a dedicated conferences and events brand would streamline the customer experience while also better positioning the company to capitalise on the post COVID-19 events rebound.

“Off the back of the launch of our first greenfields resort on Rottnest Island in 2019, we’ve progressively grown our conferences and events offering through the acquisition of a range of unique and iconic venues across the country,” he said.

“Discovery Conferences and Events aims to bring these offerings together to make the booking and planning process as seamless as possible for our clients while also providing us with the framework for further growth in this space.

“With the rebound of the conferences and events industry in the wake of COVID-19, there’s a great opportunity to tap into a hungry market looking to book corporate conferences, weddings and other special events in some iconic regional destinations.

“With strong forward bookings and a steady pipeline of enquiries, we’re confident in this rebound and the appeal the unique destinations our portfolio has to offer and look forward to further bolstering our offering.”

To support the launch of Discovery Conferences and Events, the company is bringing a local campaign to market that includes radio advertising, in-office billboards and integrated digital activity.
