G’day Group expands coastal holiday park network
Australia’s largest regional accommodation network, G’day Group, is expanding its national touring network with long leases on parks in the popular coastal towns of Busselton, WA, and Ulladulla, NSW.
G’day Group, which owns Discovery Parks, the G’day Parks licensed network and G’day Rewards, has secured 50-year leases of the Amblin Holiday Park in Busselton and the Big4 Bungalow park, Ulladulla, from Navy Canteens, which provides recreation services to Australian Navy personnel.
As part of the deal, the G’day Group will offer free G’Day Rewards memberships and other benefits to the Australian Navy’s 16,000 personnel.
G’day Group CEO Grant Wilckens said the deal would boost the group’s presence in tightly held coastal markets and forged a new alliance between Navy Canteens and G’day Rewards.
“This deal will expand our presence in these stunning tourism destinations and we have plans to invest in the signature experiences and customer service Discovery Parks is famous for,” Grant said.
“These parks are already favourite holiday destinations for families travelling within their own state but we believe they’ll be even more popular, eventually attracting interstate and international visitors, when we’ve invested in some great new facilities, including a waterpark for Ulladulla – and the borders open after the pandemic.”
Along with other deals and discounts, the deal will maintain the existing discount regime provided to the Navy and armed forces personnel.
“We are really excited about the potential to provide fantastic Aussie holidays and loyalty rewards for service personnel who make such an important contribution to our country,” Grant said.
“The driving factor in winning this tender was that G’day Rewards could provide properties close to all naval bases so that the wider group of navy personnel can benefit from cheaper accommodation at any of our Discovery or G’day Parks,” he said.
The Amblin Park in Busselton, at the gateway to the Margaret River wine region, has a range of cabin, safari tent and camping accommodation with beach access, a large indoor pool, camp kitchens and playground.
Big4 Bungalow park, Ulladulla, nestled between Sydney and Canberra, is situated on more than 8ha on the shores of the Burrell Lake, with facilities including boat ramps and jetty, resort pool, jumping pillow, tennis courts and mini golf.
