G’Day Group CEO appointed to SATC Board

Grant Wilckens, Founder and CEO of the G’Day Group - Australia’s largest owner and operator of holiday parks - has just been appointed to the Board of the South Australian Tourism Commission (SATC).

Grant says that as a SA-based national tourism operator, he is passionate about the local industry and supporting the SATC to achieve an $8 billion visitor economy by 2020.

“The G’Day Group is the largest owner and operator of holiday parks in Australia, and we are proud to be headquartered in Adelaide,” said Grant.

“The SATC continues to put SA on the map with innovative marketing campaigns, strong trade relationships and the development of world-class attractions.”

“Our tourism industry has unbridled growth potential, and I’m honoured to have been appointed to the Board, supporting the development of such a strong economic driver for SA,” said Grant.

The Adelaide-based G’Day Group comprises three brands; Discovery Holiday Parks, Top Parks and G’DAY Rewards and has a network of over 270 parks in Australia.

Founded by Grant in 2004, the company continues to expand and is on track to be a $1 billion company by 2020.

It is one of South Australia’s largest tourism operators, and the largest operator nationally within the sector. In South Australia alone, the company has over 40 properties and 350 employees.

The success of the G’Day Group is underpinned by Grant’s trailblazing approach, innovative thinking, and commercial acumen.

This year, Discovery Parks opened its first eco-resort under its first joint venture. The 83-tent property on WA’s Rottnest Island was built on an A Class Reserve and is the first new property on the island in over 30 years, attracting international attention.

Grant is the current Chair of the Caravan Industry Association of Australia (CIAA).
