Discovery Parks Wonka Roadtrip
To celebrate the release of the highly anticipated film Wonka, which opens in cinemas across the country from today, Discovery Parks and Warner Bros. Pictures have teamed up to take Wonka’s World of Imagination on the road for the ultimate weekend adventure across regional New South Wales.
The film, directed by Paul King and starring Timothée Chalamet tells the wondrous story of how the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today.
From tomorrow, a custom-built caravan inspired by the world of Wonka will take to the South Coast of New South Wales, visiting Discovery Parks in Ulladulla and Narooma to bring a touch of magic to the holiday season.
The caravan, which is decorated in bold and distinctive Discovery Parks branding and unique Wonka designs, brings the magic of the film to life. Its first stop will be Discovery Parks - Ulladulla, where the caravan will be set up from 12pm to 6pm tomorrow, Friday 15 December.
Adorned with Wonka’s famous hat, the caravan features candy-themed décor and props, and will be open for visitors to explore, take photos, and enjoy some sweet surprises.
The next day, the caravan will continue its journey to Discovery Parks - Narooma Beach, where it will again invite guests to discover a World of Imagination from midday to 6pm. Both parks are located along the scenic South Coast of New South Wales, offering stunning views and plenty of activities for the whole family.
Discovery Parks Chief Marketing Officer Lahnee White said the collaboration was a perfect fit, bringing a distinctly Australian twist to the launch of Wonka.
"Discovery Parks and Warner Bros. Pictures are both in the business of imagination, sharing the vision of creating memorable experiences for our customers,” Lahnee said.
“By taking Wonka’s World of Imagination on a road trip down the New South Wales coast, we’re adding a uniquely Australian summer element while bringing the famous chocolatier’s vision to life in our parks for guests. It’s a fun and festive way to celebrate the film’s release and showcase our beautiful parks along the way.
“Collaborations like this are part of our strategy to fast-track brand fame for Discovery and partnering with the Wonka movie offers fantastic brand synergy through our shared desire to create worlds of imagination for kids of all ages.”
As part of the promotion, the caravan will also offer a QR code with limited time deals for guests who book a stay at Discovery Parks. Using the code WONKA, guests can book a three-night stay at participating Discovery Parks and only pay for two, making it an even sweeter deal to enjoy the holidays.
The road trip is also a social media event, with Discovery Parks and Warner Bros. Pictures encouraging anyone who spots the caravan to post on their channels and tag @discoveryparksandresorts and @WarnerBrosAu
