Road to Rainbows' Trip to Pambula Beach

When we were invited to stay at Discovery Parks Pambula Beach, our minds rushed to empty beaches, crisp morning sunrises and a stretch of coast that sheds light on its name, The Sapphire Coast. We couldn’t wait for a new experience, and thanks to Discovery Parks, we got an experience we will never forget!

The helpful and smiling faces of the staff at Discovery Parks Pambula Beach lead us to our incredible Superior Ocean View Villa. Wow. What a spot! We couldn’t believe our luck, the views extended along the perfect stretch of Pambula Beach and we were surrounded by kangaroos. As the sunset skies turned to darkness, we watched in awe as the stars lit up the ocean and we tuned in as we lay on the deck of our villa for hours. The sheer beauty and seclusion of this holiday park made for a vibrant milky way on this calm and quiet night.

We woke before the sun and opened the curtains to have a deep pink sky before us. We made our way to the sand and waited for the sun to greet us while the sky constantly changed colours. It was the perfect morning and conditions were prime for an early surf. We admired the views while enjoying our breakfast before grabbing our boards and heading into the crystal clear waters right on our doorstep. We surfed for about 2 hours and soaked up the warm sun as the day progressed. Once we were surfed out we made our way to Ben Boyd National Park, as recommended by the team at Discovery Parks Pambula Beach, just a 5 minute drive away – bonus! Ben Boyd National Park is beautifully untouched and an incredible part of the Sapphire Coast. We took a short bushwalk to reach a view of the picturesque Pinnacles. One of the most fascinating natural sights we have ever laid our eyes on. This is a must do if you are visiting the area. We then headed to Severs Beach within the park. We took a sandy bush track about 1km down to the beach, part of the Pambula River. This beach is extremely unique and reminded of us of a remote tropical island. The water is aqua with calm clear water, surrounded by lush greenery. This spot is an Aboriginal cultural site of significance, with the area containing Aboriginal shell middens. We were lucky enough to have the place to ourselves. We topped off the day with a scenic hike along the Pambula River walking track!

After yet another incredible sunrise and morning surf, we decided to make our way to Nethercote to explore the waterfall and cascades in the area. We took a steep and bumpy but manageable hike down to the falls and spent the morning admiring this tranquil spot which we again had all to ourselves.

Pambula is full of hidden gems and untouched treasures. Discovery Parks Pambula Beach is located in a convenient and picturesque spot along the Sapphire Coast. Thanks to the team at Discovery Parks for another incredible stay. Click here to book your stay!
