Our favourite things to see and do in SA’s Riverland

Whether you’re into water sports and fishing, local history or beautiful nature, there’s something for everyone to enjoy in South Australia’s Riverland. We asked the team at Discovery Parks – Lake Bonney for their favourite things to see and do in Barmera and surrounds because who better than a local to help you make the most of your time away?

Banrock Station

Wine lovers will love this recommendation from Susan in our housekeeping team! Her pick of the local region is a visit to Banrock Station winery. Located just 15 minutes from Discovery Parks – Lake Bonney it’s a great place to relax and enjoy award winning wines and a cheese platter in a beautiful setting.

Loveday 4x4 Adventure Park

If hitting the great outdoors is more your style, Samantha from the housekeeping team says there is nothing better than spending the day at Loveday 4x4 Adventure Park. There’s plenty for the family to enjoy including the adrenaline of the 4WD tracks, nature walks and the Loveday Tavern to grab a bite.

Water Activities

Park Manager Andy loves the great activities you can enjoy right here in the park! From paddle boats to water trikes and of course the water playground, you’ll often spot him and his family having a blast on the lake.

Woolshed Brewery

Barry our Groundskeeper says there’s no better place to relax than the Woolshed Brewery, 20km outside of Renmark. Renowned for is great beer, food and live events with a setting to die for right on the banks of the Murray River, its well worth a visit.

Lake Bonney

Lake Bonney is a magic spot and you don’t have to leave the park to enjoy it! There’s probably not a day you won’t find Jake our Groundskeeper out on the lake in his boat fishing. He says there’s nothing better than sitting out by the water, cooking dinner on the Weber and watching one of the famous Lake Bonney sunsets.

Monash Adventure Park

Angela our Housekeeper says Monash Adventure Park is the number one spot to take the kids. With awesome play equipment like flying foxes, leaning towers, giant swings, slides and even a maze, it’s great fun for kids big and small. Plus, Angela says there is plenty of seating and BBQs for a family lunch.

Barmera Club

Phil our Assistant Manager loves the simple things in life. Quite often you’ll find him sipping a beer at the local Club watching some local football. Barmera Club provides meals and a great view of Lake Bonney, so if local flavour is what you’re after, this one’s for you!

Is beautiful Barmera in the Riverland calling your name?
