4 Winter Warmers in Victoria

Victoria’s looking mighty inviting this winter — and with fire pits ready and waiting, there’s no reason to stay indoors. Whether you're heading to the lake, the river, or somewhere in between, we'll help you turn cold nights into warm memories.

So, pack the scarves, prep the cheese board, and bring the marshmallows — your snug, fire-lit getaway starts here.

Discovery Parks – Bright, VIC

Sure, Bright’s your launchpad to some of Victoria’s best ski slopes, but this alpine town is more than just snowboards and ski lifts. Think fresh mountain air, local produce, craft brews, and fireside catchups that stretch into the evening.

At Discovery Parks – Bright, winter is all about the contrast: crisp days outdoors followed by warm, slow evenings in. Our cabins with fireplaces let you defrost in total comfort—glass of red in hand, woolly socks on, no rush to be anywhere. And if you’re staying on a site? Seasonal campfires in-park mean you don’t miss out on the toasty vibes. Just bring marshmallows and a story or two.

Spend the day wandering riverside trails, hitting local wineries or simply chasing the golden afternoon light through the High Country hills. When the chill kicks in, we’ve got you covered—literally.

Discovery Parks – Moama West

While this park technically sits just outside Victoria, it straddles the border so closely that we reckon it still earns a spot on your winter hit list—especially if you’re chasing those cosy fireside vibes. Spend your day at Billabong Ranch Adventure Park getting the blood pumping with family-friendly fun—think pony rides, an animal nursery, archery, and pedal boats. Then, after a big day out on the Murray, throw on a beanie, grab a hot drink, and settle in by the fire.

At Moama West, we keep things toasty and tidy. Fires are permitted in chimineas only (yep — they're the stylish little ones with chimneys), and they need to be out by 11pm. Children should always be supervised — this one’s strictly an adults-do-the-fire kind of vibe.

You can hire a chiminea for your stay, plus we supply the kindling. We have firewood available for purchase to get things started.
