Campfire catch ups with Andy from Lake Bonney, SA
Recently, Andy made the move the Discovery Parks – Lake Bonney, Barmera, in South Australia’s Riverland. The lake is a true destination and the park offers the best in shoreline and sunset views. Andy tells us the lakeside scenery is worth exploring by foot, noting “the further you walk the more natural and peaceful it gets”. It’s also a top spot for fishing, and Andy recommends casting a line from the banks to try your luck catching the local carp. He says, “It’s so peaceful and relaxing on a summer’s day”.
Family fun is a huge drawcard for Lake Bonney and Andy says the water park is not only his favourite park feature but also a hit with his twin five-year-old boys. There are plenty of ways for kids big and small to make a splash in park, with water trikes, trampoline and paddle boards available for hire to enjoy the water. Further afield, the region offers plenty in bush walks through national parks and great options for 4WD and outdoor adventure, including nearby Monash Playground for a fun day out.
At the end of the day, it’s family time and a relaxing dinner for Andy and fiancee Tara. And what better backdrop for relaxing with loved ones than beautiful Lake Bonney with its peaceful water and famous sunsets!
