WHAT: A perfect market for winter as it’s permanently located undercover in the Vintners Sheds, Angaston. This means you can do your shopping regardless of the weather. An amazing array of stallholders sell a beautiful selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, herbs, chicken, duck, beef, pork, lamb, specialty breads, the Barossa’s famous smallgoods, fresh milk, stunning pastries and baked goods, honey, olive oil and olives, and confectionery. WHAT: Every Sunday, regardless of the weather, a busy street in the heart of Hobart transforms into a bustling farmers’ market. When the big brass bell rings at 8.30am sharp, it all kicks off. The market is all about Tassie produce and seasonal grub. Peruse fresh produce stalls, artisan foods and menus. Trestle tables are laden with the island’s freshest produce: from the sea to the land. Artisan producers also sell their wares. There’s olive oil, cool climate wine, boutique spirits, healthy treats, breads, sourdough donuts, jams, mustards and preserves, locally roasted coffee and hand-blended tea.
