At the other end of the scale, Frank dishes up huge slabs of expertly prepared Argentinian-style steak. It's a haven of slow-grilled, beautifully seasoned beef, including the 400g Scotch fillet.
The wine list includes some of Australia's finest vintages, and it's worth dabbling in the cocktail menu. Be sure to leave plenty of room for the charred banana with salted caramel ice cream dessert. Amazing!

Upon arrival, your server will guide you through the specials and help you craft a two-person platter comprising anything that catches your eye. Only trouble is, there's a lot to choose from - and it's all delicious!

Dier Makr
123 Collins Street, Hobart
@diermakr
Artful in its delivery of good-old-fashioned flavour in dishes like seared kingfish with chickpea miso, and cauliflower cheese with a hazelnut raclette mousse, Die Makr is the epitomy of Hobart's contemporary hospitality scene.
Helmed by two 'Melbourne refugees', this popular bistro even has its own wine bar in front, Lucinda, giving you plenty to do while you wait for a table to become available.
Using a basic kitchen comprised of little more than a couple of hot plates and one hibachi, Dier Makr's chef's work their magic right in front of you!

The wine menu here is another list of minimal-intervention producers from all over the world, and the staff are more than willing to help you pick one. There's sake too and great original cocktails!
