Summertime: say yes to sunshine

Here are the top reasons why summer is ace at Discovery Holiday Parks.

School Holiday Programs

School's out and the kids can't stand a second of being bored. Discovery Holiday Parks get that, and many of our parks have school holiday programs over the summer. You'll find arts & crafts, face painting, family movie nights, cookie decorating and more. Check out the parks' "Activities & News" tab for the full schedule to see what's on when you're there.

Waterparks

Can you handle the heat? Well, with the waterpark in full swing we can sure try. We have eight locations with waterparks (and one ready to go in Lake Bonney by the 26th of December), complete with tipping buckets, sprayzones, and slides. Kids easily spend a whole day on there making friends and cooling down, only to come back at nighttime for supper and board games.

Over 60 Locations

Visit World Heritage Listed locations like Cradle Mountain and Fraser Island, taste the finest tipple in the Clare Valley and Geographe Region, or cast a line offshore in the Pilbara or off Urangan Pier in Hervey Bay. Beach, outback, mountains, or city - no matter the backdrop, summer's guaranteed to be one of the best times to enjoy it.

Catch Up With Old Friends

Generations of families come back to our holiday parks each year for the summer sun. They're finally able to sit on the deck chairs and have a yarn about the year past. Why not meet up halfway with your friends at one of our parks? The kids can keep themselves busy and active with on-site facilities, while parents can rest easy knowing that they can clock off from the 24/7.

Make New Friends

Walking to the amenities with your boardies and singlet on, minding your own business, and you wave a casual g'day to your neighbour. Next, you're out on camp chairs sharing travel tales and showing off your set-up. On holidays, people are more relaxed. And if there's one thing that Aussies are good at it, it's having a friendly chat. You'll meet people from all over our great country (and will probably have a thing or two in common).

BBQs

When you smell the prawns sizzling on the BBQ, that's when you know summer's kicked off. Our holiday parks are equipped with outdoor BBQs free to use for guests. If you're not looking to share, some of our parks have cabins with their own BBQ out on the verandah. Once dinner's grilled through, you can holler out to the kids to come & get it (or their scavenging in the woods for it).

Equipment Hire

Sometimes the best way to see the river is on a stand-up paddleboard. Or rekindling the romance is on a tandem bike around town. Our holiday parks have a variety of equipment for hire to enjoy the grounds and the area - from pedal carts through to paddle boats.

Pets Can Come Too (At Selected Parks)

Life's always better with your best bud by your side. At selected parks across Australia, pets can join you on your holiday! That means days of playing frisbee somewhere new. Check with the park first if they allow dogs on sites during the summer holidays, as there are some rules during peak seasons.

Summer of Cricket

This year Discovery Holiday Parks are all about cricket - and with the Ashes being played out around the country, this summer will be filled with classic catches, big sixes, and taped-up tennis balls. In partnership with Triple M, we will be celebrating this game of Aussie champions with the Triple M Rock Patrols who will visit some of our parks. Expect cricket quizzes, pop-up games and awesome prize giveaways. All you need to do is be there to win!

Summer only comes around once a year, so say yes to sunshine with a holiday at one of our parks.
