What is the main difference between the tent styles?

We have four different types of tents, and sizes vary ranging from 3 x 3m for the Standard Tents to 6.3 x 6.3m for the Deluxe Dune tents.

All tents have pillow-topped beds and are fully furnished with ensuite bathrooms.

Our Standard Tents are perfect for couples of duos who want the luxury and experience of glamping, but don’t need the space of a Superior or Dune tent. Standard tents come with a queen size bed and still offer ample space with ensuite. They also have a small private deck from which to relax with a good book.

The Superior Tents are larger than a Standard Tent and come with a king size bed. They have a kitchenette and more deck space, with more premium outdoor furniture, and are that bit more luxurious than a Standard Tent.

The Superior Family Tents are just like the Superior (above) but are designed for families with kids as they have an annexe with single bunk bed to the side of the tent.

Dune Tents are the most prestigious of the range, and have sweeping ocean views and a larger decking area. The Dune Tents come with king size beds and a walk-in robe with a double vanity. These tents have luxury furnishings and a floor to ceiling glass sliding door to maximise the views. They are in the best location in the property.

How many people can be accommodated in the tents?
What size are the beds?

Standard (Base Camp) – 2 people (1 queen size bed)
Superior (Tuart) – 2 people (1 king size bed). Alternatively two single beds may be available on request.
Superior Family (Tuart) – 2 to 4 people (1 king size bed and a separate annex with single bunk bed). An additional trundle bed is also available for an extra $65, payable at check-in. If you would like a trundle bed option please add this to the notes when booking online.
Deluxe (Dune) – 2 people (1 king size bed).
Accessible Tuart Tents – 2 to 4 people (king size bed and bunk bed).

How can I accommodate a family of 5 or 6?

We understand how people like to holiday at Rottnest so if you are travelling with a group of families or couples we have constructed adjacent duplex tents in clusters around BBQ and gathering areas.

The best option is to book a Superior Family Tent, which sleeps 4 - 5 people, combined with a Standard, Superior or Deluxe Tent (sleeping 2). When purchasing online, you will be prompted to provide any requests for adjacent tents, and we will do our best to accommodate these requests.

Currently, our website is unable to process group bookings. If you would like to book for a group, please make multiple bookings and we will do our best to co-locate your tents, or call call our team on 08 6350 6170. Due to the high volume of bookings during launch period, booking online is recommended to ensure you don't miss out on your preferred dates.

Will it be just like camping?

Not at all. We are a nature-based resort with all the creature comforts - just in canvas.

The only similarity to camping is the tent and being close to nature. There are no sleeping bags and shared bathrooms in sight! Discovery Rottnest Island will be more like staying at a laid-back stylish nature-based resort. You’ll sleep in a comfortable bed with quality bed linen, an ensuite bathroom, kitchenette, large outdoor deck, dining table and chairs, lounge, and ceiling fan.

What kitchen facilities are included?

There will be a kitchenette in all tents except the Standard Tents. This will comprise a fridge, microwave, sink, and cupboards with base utensils.

We have built a number of shared BBQ facilities and gathering spots throughout the resort with BBQ packs and salads available to purchase from Pinky’s Beach Club.

Pinky’s Beach Club will also be serving fresh and light food all day as well as breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Do tents have private bathrooms?

Yes, all tents have a private ensuite bathroom. Deluxe Dune tents also have a double vanity and walk in robe.

Are the tents air conditioned?

The eco tents are designed with natural ventilation and have been positioned to maximise the cool evening cross breezes. They will also all have ceiling fans over the beds.

 

BEACH CLUB & SWIMMING POOL

When will the Beach Club open?

Pinky’s Beach Club will officially open on 1 March when the accommodation opens.

What’s the pool like?

There is one large 30m resort-style pool which has been designed with families in mind; one end has a beach access for really little ones, the other deep end is more for adults. The pool is surrounded with shade umbrellas and sunbeds to relax and grab a drink or something to eat from the pool bar.

Do you have to be a guest at the resort to use the swimming pool?

Yes, the swimming pool is for guests only.

Can we use the restaurant and bar if we are not staying at the resort?

Yes, absolutely. We won’t be taking reservations and while resort guests will be prioritised where possible it’s on a first-come basis.

Will there be room service?

No, room service won’t be available but there are takeaway options from Pinky’s Beach Club.

Will the restaurant be open for breakfast lunch & dinner?

Yes

Will there be a kids menu?

Yes, families will be well catered for and there will be a dedicated kids menu.

Will Pinky’s be licenced / Can we BYO?

Pinky’s will be fully licensed and specialising in quality WA wine and beers so it will not be possible to BYO.

Can we buy take away alcohol from Pinky’s?

If you are an in-house guest you will be able to buy a bottle of wine to take back to your tent and book this to your room. You will not be able to take alcohol off the premises.

 

EVENTS

Will you host weddings and special events?

Yes weddings and special events can be catered for at Pinky’s Beach Club and accommodation packages will also be available. Information will soon be available on our website. In the meantime, please contact rottnest@discoveryparks.com.au with any queries.

 

STAYING WITH US

How do I book ?

What do I need to bring?

We provide bed linen, bath and beach towels, bathroom amenities, tea and coffee making facilities, crockery, cutlery and glassware. In our Superior and Deluxe tents we also provide a microwave and mini fridge in the kitchenette.

You will need to bring food if you would like to self-cater and personal items.

Will the tents receive a housekeeping service?

Tents will receive housekeeping services prior to the commencement of your stay and every four days you reside with us. If you would like, additional servicing can be arranged for a small fee.

What time is check out?

Check out is at 10am. Later check outs may be able to be arranged – please contact us to discuss.

Are there access tents / tents with accessibility features?

Four tents are specifically designed for accessibility. These tents have ramped access and wider access via floor to ceiling glass sliding doors as per Australian Standard 1428.1.

How do I get my luggage to the resort?

Just like other Rottnest Island accommodation, your luggage will be delivered to your room from the ferry.

How do I get from the ferry to the resort?

It is only a short walk from the main jetty – less than 1km and you don’t need to carry your bags!. Alternatively for our guests who may be less mobile a shuttle service can be arranged. If you require this service please provide further information in the notes section of your booking.

What are the booking terms?

We require a 30% deposit. Please refer to terms and conditions at time of booking.
