THE BEST PLACES TO SEE WHILE STAYING IN EMERALD BEACH, NSW

While Emerald Beach is such a scenic destination that many wouldn’t want to leave, some travellers prefer to venture further afield. To help out, we’ve listed some great attractions and activities on offer in and around Emerald Beach for you to check out. Can you add any more to the list?

Dorrigo National Park & Rainforest

Dorrigo is a great day trip, just an hour and a half drive from Discovery Parks – Emerald Beach. The National Park & Rainforest boast plenty of open picnic areas which is great for the family, and you can even walk along the Skyway over the top of the Rainforest canopy. Just stunning! If walking is more your pace, there are several trails ranging in length and difficulty, and some of them lead to the most stunning waterfalls. See if you can be lucky enough to find them!

Big Banana Fun Park

Haven’t we all always wanted to take a picture with the iconic Big Banana? It’s a great day out with the kids (even the big kids!). After you’ve taken the mandatory, iconic snap, stay for the day in the Big Banana Fun Park and enjoy the array of activities on offer. Go ice skating, hop on a train ride throughout the park, play mini golf or laser tag, make a splash in the waterpark, or even partake in a cheesemaking workshop. What more could you need?!

Reptile World

While you’re visiting the Big Banana, don’t forget to stop in at Reptile World! You and the kids can touch and feel pythons, have photos taken with crocodiles, and so much more. Are you game enough?  

Butterfly House

One for the dreamers and photographers – take a leisurely and magical walk through the Butterfly House and explore the world of beautiful butterflies as they flutter around you! There’s a great café for you to indulge in your cuppa, and they even offer Dinosaur Shows. Is that a T-Rex I just saw? 

Harbourside Markets & Jetty Foreshore

There’s no better place for a leisurely Sunday morning than the Harbourside Markets and Jetty Foreshore. The markets are open on Sundays from 8am-2pm, and boast a variety of stalls including food, crafts, nick-knacks, produce, and just about everything you could think of. The huge section of fresh local produce is always a favourite, as well as the upbeat live music that has everybody’s toes tapping.
