Say farewell to footy and HELLO WEEKENDS!

Posted by Discovery Parks on 29 Sep 2016

Don’t get us wrong, we here at Discovery love all codes of footy, we love watching Cyril Rioli playing like he is 6ft 8 tall, we love watching Cooper Cronk quietly get on with his match winning performances and we love getting away on our weekends.

Now that the footy has finished it is the perfect time for a sneaky weekend refresh before all those chores you have been putting off get in the way. Trust us they will still be there next week.

Re-connect

Put you and your loved ones back on centre stage with a weekend away. Kids and family ask for lots of help and guidance throughout the course of the relationship, but ultimately it is time that is the most precious and valued. Take the time to teach them to catch a fish, cheat at monopoly or just relax together.

Re-charge

Two or three days away can recharge the batteries, reset your mind and put the special people in your lives back in focus. Food and wine journeys, day hikes and nature breaks, country race days, a round of golf, wellness, family fun, holidays with pets, girls weekends away – with over 60 locations across Australia, the possibilities are endless with Discovery Parks.

Re-lax

Do you ever think you felt your phone vibrate but when you checked there was no missed call or text? Might be time to un-plug and hang out the ‘Do not disturb’ sign. A weekend away is the perfect excuse to indulge in that book, explore some new terrain or just put your feet up and watch the sun go down. Stop and take a breath.

Re-claim

Do your weekends during footy season look something like this: Friday night footy (either couch or at the oval), ballet lessons Saturday morning running concurrently with a school football game followed by a quick game of netball to round out the morning. Usually a friend’s party drop off (or two) on Saturday afternoon. Junior club football early Sunday morning up to an hour away from home, impromptu ballet rehearsal for next week’s competition, finishing the weekend with Sunday afternoon football (either couch or at the oval). Does this sound familiar?
As parents, we have a very small window to re-claim our weekends at the turning of the seasons – seize yours while you have the chance!

Footy has finished, you have worked all week and what have you got to look forward to?
Your weekends are precious, don’t let another one slip away. Make plans for your next weekend getaway and return on Monday feeling re-freshed and content with what you achieved in your time off.

Break the routine and make the most of your next weekend.
