Already a go-to destination for holidaymakers on New South Wales’ Sapphire Coast, Discovery Parks – Eden just got even better with the unveiling of new waterpark, pumptrack and 11 new cabins in time for the Easter break.

Representing a $4 million investment by Australia’s largest regional accommodation provider, the G’day Group, the latest upgrades to Discovery Parks – Eden are aimed at attracting more tourists, while also providing the local community with more family-friendly entertainment options.

Eden H2o 33G’day Group Chief Operating Officer Matt Lang said the upgrades to Discovery Parks – Eden underline the company’s commitment to investing in regional communities across Australia.

“We’ve committed to investing heavily in regional Australia to promote the best our country has to offer. Over the past 12 months, we’ve undertaken similar development projects in several properties across our portfolio, including Goolwa, Townsville and Bunbury,” Matt said.

“What we’ve seen with these developments is that by offering more high-quality entertainment and accommodation options in-park, we’re encouraging people to stay longer and spend more money in the local community.

“We know that for dollar spent by a guest on regional accommodation, around $2 goes back to the local community in economic benefit, whether that be buying fuel, groceries or dining out. So, we’re really excited about the benefits these upgrades will bring for the community and visitors to the beautiful Sapphire Coast region.”

The latest upgrades are the first of a two-stage development at Discovery Parks – Eden. Stage two will include nine additional cabins to increase park capacity and is scheduled for completion in the 2022-23 financial year.

The new waterpark will also be open to the community, outside of holidays and long weekends, with day passes to cost $10 per person and negotiated rates for larger groups.

Eden H2o 32Park Manager Jason Stephensen said Discovery Parks – Eden will be hosting a variety of events to celebrate the opening of the new facilities over what is shaping up to be a busy Easter.

“We’re super excited to have the waterpark, pumptrack and new cabins ready to go for what is traditionally one of our busiest weekends of the year,” he said.

“We’ll have competitions for the kids, DJs, outdoor games, a drinks stand and food vans from local producers right across the weekend. If the weather permits, we’re also hoping to offer some live music.

“Our booking numbers are looking really strong. We only have a couple spots left in the park and I imagine they will get snapped up quickly, especially with the number of great activities we have planned for the Easter period.”

The park will also be hosting a giant seafood raffle and sausage sizzle barbeque to raise funds for the G’day Group’s charity partner, Rural Aid.
