Whale Watching Season

20 May 2019

June is the start of the Whale watching season on Phillip Island on the Bass Coast in Victoria.  Last year was an amazing season for whale watching and hopefully this year will be just as good, if not better.  With an 80% chance of spotting whales it is certainly worth visiting.  Commonly spotted along the picturesque Phillip Island coastline are Southern Right and Humpback whales.  Playful dolphins are often also sighted.  To celebrate the return of the whales Cowes will be having an Island Whale Festival http://island whales.com.au/ 5th - 7th July 2019.  There will be loads of activities and celebrations along with plenty of opportunities to go on whale watching boat trips.
During the cooler months the beaches are quieter but there is still plenty to do on Phillip Island, visit our Little Penguins and watch them come ashore, or wander along the boardwalk in our Koala Sanctuary, take a Go Kart ride at the Grand Prix circuit or take a boat trip out to our amazing seal colony and see 1000's of seals at play.

Throughout the whale season there will be special accommodation deals at Anchor Belle Holiday Park https://www.anchorbelle.com.au/ so keep an eye out for accommodation specials and come spot a whale!!
