Flood Update

Across Australia, the ongoing impacts of flood waters continue to affect several Discovery Holiday Parks. Despite this, it is our priority to ensure a safe stay for you and your family.

We send our heartfelt support to those who are personally affected by the floods. To our guests whose travel plans have been disrupted by impacts to our properties, we thank you for your patience and understanding. Our park teams are working tirelessly to keep guests, residents, and staff safe. And, last but by no means least, we extend our thanks to the emergency services personnel who are working around the clock to assist flood affected communities.

New South Wales

Discovery Parks – Horseshoe Lagoon

  • We ask for your patience and understanding when contacting our park team. Our team live locally in the region and most of our team are also affected personally by the floods
  • The risk of flooding has now passed and our team are preparing to re-open the park from 28 February
  • Site holders are required to obtain a compliance check from a registered electrician to be supplied to Discovery Parks management before occupying their site
  • With the park re-open from 28 February, site fees will resume from 1 March 2023.

Discovery Parks – Jindabyne

  • The park is open to guests, residents, and staff
  • Due to rising lake levels, all sites are closed
  • Check for road closures which may affect your travels
  • Refer to your local emergency authority for most recent flood and evacuation warnings.

Discovery Parks – Maidens Inn, Moama

  • We ask for your patience and understanding when contacting our park team. Our team live locally in the region and most of our team are also affected personally by the floods
  • The risk of flooding has now passed
  • The top half of the park is open accessible and open to guests
  • Our team are preparing to fully re-open the park from 28 February

South Australia

Discovery Parks – Lake Bonney

  • Please note, some areas of the park will remain closed for your safety
  • All communal facilities will be operational from 13 February, except for the water trampoline, pump track and hire facilities. Remaining facilities will be back online in early March.

Victoria

Discovery Parks – Echuca

Discovery Parks – Nagambie Lakes

  • We ask for your patience and understanding when contacting our park team. Our team live locally in the region and most of our team are also affected personally by the floods
  • Water levels have receded
  • The park remains closed to all guests
  • The property is accessible to annuals and permanent residents, to assess and clean up their dwellings. The park remains closed for overnight stays.
  • Park access hours are 10am – 3pm (Mon-Fri) and 9am – 4pm (Sat-Sun)
  • All site visitors will be required to sign in and out at reception, including all trades, insurance assessors, and friends and family who enter the site. Children and any pets are not permitted to enter the site
  • There is significant clean up occurring to ensure basic service infrastructure is restored at the property
  • While clean up and assessment are still underway there is no estimated re-opening date
  • Our immediate attention is focussed on dealing with the current situation in parks. We will review fee structure as soon as possible and communicate as soon as there is an update on this.

  • Works are continuing on water and sewerage infrastructure, which need to be restored before we can allow site holders to occupy their sites
  • Clean up assistance will continue to be provided up until 31 January 2023 before the SES conduct a washdown of impacted sites and cabins in early February

Discovery Parks – Jindabyne

  • The park is open to guests, residents, and staff
  • The park team are onsite undertaking flood management preparations

When will I receive my refund?

Our teams are working to resolve all upcoming bookings in our flood affected parks as soon as possible. We are working to contact our guests at the first available opportunity. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we are managing a high volume of booking changes due to the current flood situation.

Will any support be provided to residents upon re-entry and during clean-up phases in parks?

Our team will be on hand to support all clean-up efforts and will assist in any way we can. In addition to our park teams, we have teams travelling from our Adelaide support office to assist in recovery and clean-up. We appreciate your patience with our teams as we support you through this period.  

Are flood-affected parks secure to keep assets safe?
