4 Day Itinerary
Day 1 Alligator Airways
Take to the air and fly over the World Heritage Bungle Bungle Ranges, three million years old, sandstone cliffs, some of the most spectacular scenery the East Kimberley has to offer. On the return journey, view the famous Argyle Diamond Mine and Ragged Ranges before you land.There are many variations and combinations available.
You can fly also fly into the world’s largest Diamond Mine and enjoy a smorgasbord lunch. Mitchell Falls and the Kimberley Coastline flights also available. You can choose to fly fixed wing, helicopter or float plane.
Finish the day on “The BBQ Boat” cruise toward the glorious sunset on the Ord River, enjoying a delicious dinner, an array of wildlife, magical views and great company.
Day 2 Triple J Tours
Ord River boat cruises are a must do on your visit to the Kimberley’s. Triple J Tours leaving from our park, offer cruises up the river to Lake Arglye. Travel through the spectacular gorge country, returning as the sun sets over the Carr- Boyd ranges. The Development of the hugely successful Ord River Irrigation Scheme has created a permanent ecological system along the river and is recognised as one of the most significant bird and wildlife sites in the East Kimberley.
Full day tours are also available, taking in the Lower Ord River. See the huge Salt Water Crocodiles in their natural habitat.
Day 3
Enjoy a coach tour or some 4wheel driving. Sightseeing tours ranging from the Ord River Irrigation Area, with crops of many tropical fruits, melons, maize and Sugar Cane. Visit the Mini-Bungle-Bungles ( very close to the town). Visit the Dam wall at Lake Argyle, El Questro and Emma Gorge.
OR
Catch a Barramundi, join one of the local charter boats or guides into the lower reaches of the Ord river where they will share their knowledge and expertise to help you join the “Metre Club”
Finish you stay relaxing with a cool drink in hand, under the magnificent tree canopy in our park on the banks of Lake Kununurra, spotting fresh water crocodiles, catfish and varied other wildlife.
Day 4 Faraway Downs
Last Frontier Experience
Experience life on a cattle station in the 1940’s era. See where Baz Lurhmann’s movie “Australia” was filmed. See the famous Far Away Downs Homestead, also the indigenous component of “The Dreamtime Walk” providing an opportunity to experience the rich culture, teachings, art and history of one of the oldest cultures in the world, Australia’s first people.
