Discovery Holiday Parks – Kalgoorlie in Western Australia’s Goldfields is located 8 hours from Perth, and forms part of the Golden Quest Discovery Drive Trail, which runs 965km from Coolgardie to Laverton.

Kalgoorlie-Boulder is famous as a gold mining town, and is home to Australia’s largest open cut gold mine, The Fimiston Open Pit or better known Super Pit. Visitors can witness the sheer magnitude of this 3.5 kilometre long, 1.5 kilometre wide and 360 metre deep pit from the Super Pit Lookout.

To experience life as a miner, don overalls, boots and a hard hat and head underground at Kalgoorlie-Boulders first gold mine. The Gold Mine of Fame guided tour runs for around 1 and a half hours and leads you down original timber lined mine shafts via ladders and through narrow portals.

The town offers a range of historic attractions including Western Australia’s only operating pharmacy museum - the century old Boulder Pharmacy Museum, or learn about the regions involvements in the Boer War, WWI, WWII and the Vietnam War at the Goldfields War Museum and Information Centre.

The Royal Flying Doctor Visitor Centre offers an insight into the valuable service provided to remote communities, while the Karlkurla Bushland Park offers a 4km walking trail and viewing platform of the surrounding bushland.

Further afield, Lake Ballard at Menzies is home to world-renown artist, Anthony Gormley’s 51 life-sized metal statues, based on silhouettes of the local people.

For those on a touring holiday, the beautiful coastal town of Esperance, with its white sand beaches and turquoise water, is a 4 and a half drive and offers a Mediterranean-like climate with excellent fishing and swimming.

Our 4 Star Deluxe Cabins provide sleeping for 6 and feature 80cm flat-screen TV, separate toilet and outdoor alfresco dining, while our Deluxe Chalets provide sleeping for 5 over 2 levels with all linen provided. Our wide range of Superior Units feature reverse cycle air-conditioning, TV, en-suite bathroom, iron and ironing board, full kitchen and come complete with all linen supplied, with luxurious spa baths available in our Single and Double Spa Units. Our shady, grass-covered camp sites are close to the amenities block, with a choice of en-suite or non en-suite powered caravan sites with water and sullage.

Goldfields Oasis

The Goldfields Oasis is one of Western Australia's premier recreation centres and a focal point for sporting, recreation and leisure pursuits of our growing community and visitors to the city.

The City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder held its grand opening of the Goldfields Oasis in March of 1999 and has progressed to add to its already outstanding facilities by adding a versatile outdoor water park including the worlds most exciting new water sport the Flowrider.

Our facilities include a fully equipped health club with quality equipment, a group fitness studio hosting over 30 group fitness classes a week, aquatic facilities including an Olympic size lap pool, leisure pool, toddlers pool, two spas and a sauna. The Oasis also has the outdoor adventure water park with BBQ facilities and playground. The indoor sports stadium has three fully sprung courts suitable for basketball, netball, volleyball, badminton and soccer. In addition, the centre offers a wellness area, café, crèche, outdoor courts, function room hire and much more.
