Strahan is set in Tasmania’s Western Wilderness on the banks of Macquarie Harbour, and offers unforgettable scenery and nature experiences. Explore the World Heritage listed Franklin-Gordon Wild Rivers National Park. Take a ride on the wild side, on an exhilarating jet boat journey on King River. Climb 200 metres on the West Coast Wilderness Railway, crossing 40 bridges and wild rivers.

Indulge in the region’s fresh seafood and superb wine. Watch the fishermen unload their catch of lobsters on the wharf. Take a trip to local islands, including Bonnett Island, with the delightful penguin colony. Marvel at the majestic Huon Pines which are more than a thousand years old.
