While there look over the local arts and crafts displayed there. Before leaving the area, walk across the road to the Rocky Page Hall of Fame for a look at the museum of local Country Music icon Rocky Page. You will find a few surprises there including the biggest guitar you have ever seen.

Walk down the main street and pick up supplies for your stay at the two independent supermarkets and head back to the park.

Use your discount voucher to book into one of our clubs or hotels for your evening meal or pick up a DVD for a night in .

Day two    Banrock Station Winery.

Sleep in a bit, Kick back and go for a walk along the beach; if you go before 9.30 you will likely see the teeming mass of cormorants, pelicans and other water birds herding fish and having breakfast. Truly spectacular.

Lunch at the famous Banrock station winery and wetland centre, if the weather is cold and wet stay inside the interpretive centre and enjoy the fine food, wine, and coffee’s available, otherwise hit the board walk and get up close and personal with nature.

Book a trip on the unique Loch Luna Cruise boat a platform boat that can cruise the river as well as take you into the back waters known as the lungs of the Murray of the Murray . Carl the skipper, has an extensive knowledge of European, Aboriginal and geographical history of the area and loves to share with interested  travellers. Otherwise just sit back and quietly watch the beautiful scenery float past

You should also try the famous Bonney View Restaurant for your evening meal where you can eat outside under the grape vines (literally) or inside beside the roaring log fire. Or grab another DVD and chill out again you are on holiday after all. There will be a fire pit in the park roaring away somewhere go and enjoy the evening with others in the park.

Day Three  Time to look about the place

Head to Monash on the highway to see the famous playground there that has been featured on many TV lifestyle and holiday shows. Across the road is a local chocolate manufacturing business, call in for a sweet treat. Next door to that is the local community club that will have cold drinks hot coffee and locals ready for a tall story or two.

Enjoy.

As you head out of Monash towards Renmark you will pass the Thachi winery where their cellar door sales offer extremely good value for wine and fortifieds, Tastings are compulsory so don’t hold back.

Renmark is your next stop where you have many choices for a lunch break from the patisserie where you will enjoy country style pasties and cakes or go to the beautifully sited hotel or community club that are both overlooking the River Murray. While there you can saunter down to the River bank and Jump on the River Rambler for a very entertaining River cruise, make sure you try the scones that are cooked on board as you go.

Also in Renmark is the PS Industry a 100 year-old paddle steamer that does do cruises from time to time if you are lucky enough to be there jump on, it is a fabulous experience to be on a wood fired steam driven paddle steamer.

Alternatively call into the historic Angoves winery home to St. Agnes brandy and many premium wines, this is one of Australia’s largest family owned wineries and distillers- fabulous history tastings and sales.

Head to the Cobdogla Community club for dinner have a go at the meat raffle and buy a ticket in the football cash board. Games galore for children, this is a truly family focused club. Good Value and we have discount vouchers.

Day Four   Your Choice.

If all that sounds too much just chuck a rod in the river or hit one of the golf courses for a round or two. The Riverland has four of the best golf courses outside the metropolitan area all within a 35 kilometre radius of Barmera’s fantastic course.

Let us make an appointment for a full body makeover that will leave relaxed and invigorated. Cross the road from the salon and you are in a very unique gift shop with a range of product better than most city shops. Casa Mia is a retail therapists’ haven filled with, “must have” treasures. We even have discount cards to help you get started.

B and B’s is a Riverland icon and is almost as famous as the Lake itself,  they are a supplier of clothing and haberdashery, this small shop is so crammed full of stock it is hard to move around but they will find whatever it is you need. Great prices but don’t be afraid to ask for discount.

After lunch at the hotel or the bakery, (best pasties in the Riverland) head to Berri for more retail therapy at the Berri Ltd factory outlet. The prices are fantastic and they also have available product there that is only sold from the outlet.

On the way, you pass the largest winery in the southern hemisphere, stop, have a look and duck into the wine shop for a tasting. Not too many you still have to drive.

While there the next stop is Aggies Fresh fruit stall on the left after you leave the winery. Even if you don’t buy anything call in and have a chat to Aggie, she will let you taste her local produce and is a font of information about the local industry.

Closer to Berri is another taste sensation at the Angus park dried fruits factory outlet. Apart from their retail range of fruits and nuts they have the best handmade icecreams made to order using fruit and nuts from their range mixed with real icecream for a lipsmacking taste sensation.

If a quiet afternoon is called for, find the only lift in the Riverland at the Berri resort hotel, (it only goes up one floor) and enjoy a flutter on the pokies or a quiet drink overlooking the Murray from their upstairs gaming or lounge area. Take the board walk along the river front , follow the trail of Jimmie James, a local aboriginal tracker who helped find many lost children and escaped criminals, the kids would have been pleased to see him, not sure about the convicts though.

Water Trampoline

WATER TRAMPOLINE & NEW AQUA LAUNCH

The water trampoline is the best family fun available in the Riverland and now we also have a new aqua launch, for the uninitiated it is an 8 metre circular tube with a trampoline base across the top. Attached is a catapult for the children to be launched into the water by their more heavy less fit dads. This is wet, water fun for the whole family.

Solar Heated Pool

Enjoy the day lazing by the pool, watch the kids frolic in the water.
