G'Day Nikki, Park Manager at Discovery Parks - Harrington here. Our park is a pretty special spot and we love to welcome new travellers who haven't visited the region before. To help give you an idea of what you can expect we thought we'd create our perfect day in Harrington Beach!
Our park is situated in the heart of the small coastal township of Harrington. Just a short walk from the park gets you to all the places you need to see while holidaying in the park. We have four sand tracks which leads to the tidal lagoon, great for the kids for fishing, swimming, canoeing or hire a paddle board from the park. Only a few minutes level walk through the park get's you onto 5 km break wall, its like an open aquarium you just don't know what you're going to see each day, its also ideal for bike riding (we hire them too)! Off the Break wall you can access Harrington Beach, it's ideal for walking and fishing, there's some beautiful little shallow sandy bays of crystal clear water, perfect spot for a picnic.
The Ideal Day for a family in Park would be - spend the morning in the park, the kids love the giant jumping pillow, a game off putt golf, pedal kart hire or riding a bike all the while Mum and Dad can relax before setting off for the afternoon to Crowdy Head with the kids just 5 kilometres away to discover this iconic little fishing village. A swim at the patrolled beach and a burger or fish chips from the beach side cafe, if you have a 4WD get a permit from the local bait and tackle shop and head a few kilometres up the beach for the afternoon. A walk along the old fishing wharf, it's the quaintest little fishing harbour you'll find on the coast, perfect for the kids to fish off and spot a Dolphin or Turtle too. Head on up the hill to the stunning little lighthouse offers the best sunsets on the mid north coat! Back to park with some very tired kids for a BBQ and relaxed night just to start it all over again.
