The purchase follows recent park acquisitions in Airlie Beach, Coolwaters Yeppoon, and Hervey Bay, along with the Top Parks brand and stable of properties. Discovery’s fast-growing footprint in Queensland now totals 51 properties, with the company owning or licensing over 250 properties throughout Australia.

Discovery Parks CEO Grant Wilckens said the company was strategically acquiring properties throughout Queensland where growing visitation continues to present opportunities for industry.

“Walkabout Palms is a property that has a fantastic family-feel thanks to the previous owner, Sibby Saitta and his team, who have managed the property for almost 30 years.”

“We look forward to building on the fantastic holiday experience that has been created at Walkabout Palms, as the property joins our suite of top-quality parks that offer good times and great memories,” said Grant.
