What’s Cookin’ at Lake Kununurra?

28 Feb 2014

Located in the heart of the East Kimberley, there’s so much to see and do in this popular tourist region. With its perfect climate, swimming, fishing, pleasure cruising and canoeing are all popular pursuits on the clear calm waters of Lake Kununurra.

And at the end of your day’s adventure, relax and enjoy the hospitality extended by Discovery Parks’ Managers Sharon & Carol Little.

“Our regular ‘What’s Cookin’ social gatherings have become extremely popular with park guests” says Kathryn. “Every Saturday we host our regular Sausage Sizzle, on Monday our guests are treated to locally caught Barra-Mundi burgers, and Wednesday nights are famous for our camp oven stews”.

“We’ve created a welcoming environment where guests trade stories of their travels and share lots of laughs” says Mark. “In return for a good feed, we simply ask for donations to support a local cause”.

In 2013, the team at Discovery Parks – Lake Kununurra raised more than $13,000 for their local St John Ambulance service. In 2014 they are supporting Care Flights.

Located on Lakeview Drive, Discovery Parks – Lake Kununurra boasts a number of powered and unpowered sites plus a wide range of self-contained cabin accommodation. “You’ll be surprised that we’re more than just a caravan park” concludes Kathryn.
